You will be happy to find out that Captain Stephen Greenleaf died in battle at the age of 62, a very active man. He drowned with 9 others when his ship sank of off Cape Breton(sp), Maine in the Battle of Wells in 1690.

For several years he was the Newburry representative to the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony Co.

In 1689 he was the Agent of the State to make a treaty with the indians at Pennicook.

In 1690 his son Stephen graduated from Harvard.
