There is some hope here. My G-Gmother Catherine Haas ADOLPH named two of her children Emma and William. This is consistent with German naming practices. (For further reference, her children's names, not necessarily in order are Harry, Catherine, William, Carl, Emma and Edward.) The second-marriage theory works for me, too. I can email a 1930's picture of Catherine HAAS and wedding pictures of her daughters Catherine and Emma if you are able to spot check for a family resemblance.
