Linda, I know it has been sometime since you posted this query but if you are still interested I have this:

Adam Haas b 15 May 1834 Bavaria, Germany and he died 1 Aug 1915 in Earl, Cleveland County, NC (I have not found anything to place him in that area but two daughter were located in Cleveland County, NC at one time). Folklore has Adam stowing away on a ship landing in America.

In the 1860 census we find him in Spartanburg SC married to Causada with one child, Auelia age 6/12. I have him and Causada (Canzada) in the 1860,1870, 1880 and the 1900 census. He and Canzada had at least 8 children that I have on file with some of his grandchildren.

If you read this contact me here or at earl747@bellsouth.net

This is not my line but I am doing work for someone else

Earl Peeler
