John - is this you that posted this on the Steele County web site?

Surname: HABERMAN, HABERMANN, HABRMAN, STANGLER, BRAULIK, SHIMPACH

Since my original posting my research has revealed the following:
1) Alternate spellings in various records are HABERMANN and HABRMAN.
2) Wencl HABERMAN and family left the Ceska Trebova region of Bohemia in 1871 (not 1857) and settled in Steele County. Wencl had been a weaver in Bohemia. Wencl and his sons settled in Summit Township (not Sommerset Township) and eventually farmed in both Summit and Sommerset Townships.
3) Ceska Trebova has a wonderfully informative www site!
4) Katherine SHIMPACH immigrated in 1893 with her parents.
5) Wencl HABERMAN and Rosie STANGLER-HABERMAN died in 1893 and 1905 respectively.
6) Wencl J. HABERMAN and Theresa BRAULIK-HABERMAN died in 1924 and 1925 respectively.
