Hi Jocelynn,

I found William in the 1870 and 1880 Wellington, Fox Township, Kendall County, Illinois census. 1870 he is on page 32 and 1880 he's on page 13.

In 1870 he is listed as 5 months old on July 25, 1870. He is listed with his parents, Lewis and Maria "Habl" and their older two children, Chester, age 5, and Edward, age 2. All the children were born in Illinois and Lewis was listed as being born in Germany and both his parents were of foreign birth. Maria is listed as being born in England and both her parents also are listed as being of foreign birth.

In 1880 William is 10 and listed again with his parents, Lewis Hable, now age 44, and Maria, now age 37. Maria and her parents are all listed as being born in England, but in this census Lewis and both his parents are listed as being born in Prussia.

Chester is now 15, Edward is 12, and there are four more sons listed: Lewis - 8 (my son-in-law descends from Lewis), John - 5, Joseph - 3, and Nelson - 5 months old.

Also living in the home is Lewis's brother Christopher Hable, age 49 and single, born in Prussia. Kate Adams, age 17, is listed as a Servant in the home. She was born in Illinois, her dad was born in England and her mom in Ireland.

Information I received from my son-in-laws family says that Maria Hable's maiden name was Adams. I don't have any documentation on that, but if it is accurate, then Kate may have been a cousin or niece to Maria.

I have information that a son of your William's was Myron Hable, and his son was Steven Allan Hable, and his son was Derek Hable. I have no dates or other information about these folks.

My son-in-law's grandmother was Ellareen Hable Eder, 1902 to 1979, and she was born in Renville County, Minnesota. I have looked in the 1900 Bird Island, Minnesota census, but did not see any Hable's there. I'm currently searching the rest of Rest of 1900 Renville County to see if I can locate any of them.

If you would like to share, I would love to learn more about William's descendants. If you would be interested I could send you copy's of the census and other information that I have.
