William Grimes and Zerah Belle were married on June 16, 1863. They lived in her house in Hyattstown, until her sudden death on Apr. 12, 1881. Note: Zerah Belle is buried in the McElfresh family cemetery.

* Fanny Clara Grimes Shipley had 3 children. Her first baby died, the second was a set of twins, who died also. Fanny died of childbirth complications (circa 1892).
Fanny's husband, John Wesley Shipley, preached a bit when he was young at the Browningsville Methodist and Hyattstown Methodist churches. Fanny and John met at a farmers picnic in Howard County, Maryland. They lived in Takoma Park, Maryland.
