Hi Robert, I have been digging on this for you as well. Do you know if James came back to Illinois with the girls? Edith did belong to Martha. I have not found James on the 1900 census, there are lots of James Petersons, but I'm not sure what one would be him. There are James Petersons in Fulton that might be him.
