Does anyone have proof that Will Ella Hardeman was a daughter of William Polk "Gotch" Hardeman? I have found postings showing her as his daughter, but have not found her on the 1870 census with Wm. Hardeman and his other younger children. Will Ella was b. 29 April 1863, TX., married William Francis Searight. William Polk Hardeman's second wife was Sarah Hamilton (who may have first married a Read/Reade...... can anyone confirm this first marriage?). Sarah d. 1869 and apparently when Wm. P. Hardeman m. for the third time in 1874, the children (at some point) went to live with Sarah Hamilton Hardeman's sister (Mary Etta, who m. Thomas W. Folts) in Austin, Travis Co., TX. In the Folt's household in 1880 are: W. E. Hardeman, age 17 (this could be Will Ella, but where was she in 1870?); T. L., age 14, who appears to be Tallie (or Tullie) L. Hardeman (said child I have not been able to trace); and William, age 10, who would be William Hardeman. Hardemans are my kin via the Polks. Thanks for any info, Bill Polk, Kansas City, MO.
