Sorry about taking so long to get back to you. I don't have a Samuel Houston Hargis, but there could be one. If you aren't on the Hargis rootsweb mailing list, you should sign up and send an email to that list. You might find something about Samuel Houston Hargis. There is a LOT of Hargis info on that list.
The part about Oklahoma is interesting too.
It is believed my Peter Hargus (son of Lewis Hargis) went from Ark to Okla before coming to Texas. He had two brothers with him also. Their parents were already dead when the 3 boys left Ark. I am trying to find out where they were in 1870. They weren't in Ark, nor in Tx.
