In the 1920 census of Grainger Co., TN, the following is listed:

Robert H. Hargus, age 51, born in TN
Susan R. Hargus, wife, age 41, born in TN
Vernie A. Maples, step-son, age 16, born in TN

According to the Soc. Sec. Death Index, Vernie was born on Oct. 2, 1902 and died in Jyly 1971 at Corryton, Knox County, TN.

I have not been able to locate Robert, Susan or Vernie in the 1930 census or obtain any additional information on them.

My interest in this family is with Robert H. Hargus. I am trying to determine if he was married before his marriage to Susan.

Dellie (Delavene or Delores)Elmore, daughter of Wilburn and Eliza Jane Skaggs Elmore, of Grainger County, was married to a Hargus and I am trying to determine if it was Robert H. Hargus. Dellie was born April 9, 1867 and died July 17, 1892. She is buried with her parents in the Perrin Hollow Cemetery in Grainger Co., TN. Buried next to her is an infant who died June 26, 1892.

If anyone has knowledge of this family I would appreciate the information.
