I too am searching for Harrigans in Portland. My great grandmother was Mary Harrigan, born 5-15-1858 in Maine to Michael (?) Harrigan and Margaret Nelligan Harrigan. Michael and Margaret came from Ireland. Not positive about where, but we have immigration papers on John Harrigan who came from Blackwater / Clare to Portland. Mary married Henry D. O'Connor who was from a large County Carlow family who emigrated to Portland. Would LOVE to exchange info if you think there is a connection. Best regards, Susan.
