Hello Ruth, Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately I have no first hand information from my grandmother, Mary Ann Harrigan, as she died when my mother, Josephine, was seven, so Josie had no knowledge of her mother's family. The information I have came from a researcher in Limerick City, who said that Mary Ann's parents were Thomas Harrigan and Mary Burke who were married at Doon in 1865.
Mary Ann was born in 1869 and was the third of Thomas and Mary's 10 children born at Doon. She came out to Australia in 1891.
It is interesting that your Thomas married Mary Blake in 1865, whereas my Thomas married Mary Burke on 9 August 1865. I wonder were they cousins, or hsve I been given wrong information. I would be interested in more details of your family to compare. My e-mail is sbp@bit.net.au/
I can send you details of their other children.
Best wishes,
Geoff.
