Your Charles is a grandson on Henry and Mary
Johnston. He was the son of Henry's son,
John, who died at sea after service in the
Mexican War. John married Harriet Trisler
and had several children -- off the top of
my head I remember George (who served in the
Confederate cavalry), Nan (who married
Henry Redman), and Ellen Virginia, who is
my great-grandmother (she born 1843, d.
1911, was the youngest).
