Richard Healy and Johanna Houlihan married ca. 1871 in Glin, Co. Limerick. Richard had two brothers, that I know of, Patrick and Garrett. Patrick stayed in Ireland, but Garrett emigrated to the US around 1875.
Richard and family emigrated to the States ca. 1890. The family members were Richard Healy, Johanna Houlihan and children, James, Ellen (Nellie), Thomas, Honora (Nora) & Michael (twins), Patrick and Richard. There was another son, John, born ca. 1886 but I don't believe he survived. The range of years of births is ca. 1872-1886.
The family can be placed in Ware. Mass. in the 1890's then after that in the New Haven, Ct. area. Some of the sons spelled their names later in life as Healey. James, the eldest, settled down in Fairfield County and his descendents were in the Greenwich, Ct. area. Patrick Healey married a woman named Catherine, stayed in the New Haven area and had a son, Patrick J.. Ellen (Nell) married Mike Rogers. Nora married George Martin and had at least one child, Alice. Michael never married. Thomas died in the early 1900's and had two children, Tom and Winifred. Richard married Anna Bohan and had two sons, Richard and Garrett.
The names that keep appearing in the family tree are Richard, Patrick, Thomas, Ellen and Nora. If these names, dates or places fit in with your research, please get in touch with me. I have been in touch with cousins still in Glin.
