James Carvel Hendon (b abt. 1840) is my gg Grandfather. I have been unable to identify his ancestry, but have the following information:
James C. Hendon appears in the 1920 Census for Harford County (Bel Air Township), MD. Age 80.
James C. Hendon appears in the 1880 Census. His occupation is "Farm Laborer." He's 40 years old, married and head of household. Others in the household are wife Margaret and daughters Lillian and Elizabeth. The census shows his parents' place of birth as Maryland. He lives in Belair, Harford, MD.
Further, I know his daughter, Elizabeth Eva Hendon, my G Grandmother, married Jonathan Knight Uhler II and moved to LA. The other daughter, Lillian, married Rollin Alexander Whittick. I believe James' wife, Margaret, is Margaret Arthur of Pennsylvania.
I would love to hear from anyone with any info about this family.
