I am looking for any information on John and Mary McCollum Hendon. They would have lived in northwest Alabama during the 1800's. Mary McCollum was the daughter of William McCollum (Fayette County, AL). I believe she may have been the second wife of John R. Hendon; however, this is speculation. John Hendon's sister was Elizabeth Adella Hendon. Elizabeth married William McCollum, the father of Mary McCollum. In 1880, William and Elizabeth McCollum are listed on the census living with grandchildren, George H. Hendon and Martha Luella (Ella) Hendon. I believe these are the children of John Hendon and second wife, Mary McCollum. On Ellah's death certificate, she listed Dubin, AL as her birthplace. Dublin is on the census as a community in north Faytette County, AL. If you know of this family, I am trying to find out what happened to John and Mary Hendon, causing their children to move in with the grandfather (William McCollum). I would also like to know the parent of John Hendon. I believe this may the Johnson Hendon and Sarah (Sally) Scoggins Hendon, but do not know for sure. Thanks in advance for anyone's input.
