Please help me! I have two Higdon children that are with my Ray family in Murray County Georgia. I feel that one of the Ray daughters married a Higdon but I do not know which one.
The children appearing in the home of Wm. C Ray are: William Higdon, 19 years old, born in Tn.; and B. F. Higdon, 5 years old born in Tn. This is on the 1850 census..
In 1860 Benjamin is still in the home and is listed as 15; by 1870 he is using the name of Benjamin Ray and is married with his family right next door to the Ray family members.
Their mother could have been Katie, Hannah,Jane or Beckie.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
