Charlie Thanks to you and Elisa I have confirmation of relationship between John Thomas, his parents & siblings. I guess I'm officially part of the family ;-) I am trying to discover what happened to Ignatius Higdon, son of John Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Hill Higdon. He was listed on the 1850 & 60 census in their household as their son, born abt 1844. John Thomas died in Civil War service 1862, Elizabeth in 1866. In her widow's pension application Bennet is named the only surviving child, from several sources. It is unclear exactly when and where Ignatius died, but it looks like between 1860 and 1870 (aged 16-26), perhaps even before her death in 1866. Have you found an Ignatius buried in St. Benedict near Elizabeth, or perhaps if he died after her death near another relative? I know that there are many by this name, so it might be difficult to sort that piece out. Will the book "Descendents of John Higdon and Millicent.." help me to learn more about Ignatius & Mildred Dyson? I am confused about their parentage and migration to Ky. Thanks for all of the information! Diane Notify Administrator about this message?
