I supposedly descend Wakefield / Dover, N.H., Rev. War patriot and legislator, LtCol David Copp, Sr's wife: Margaret Palmer. Daughter of legislator, patriot, Rochester, N.H., inn keeper, Maj. Barnabus Palmer, Sr., who wed Elizabeth Robinson of Exeter, N.H.; the daughter of Christopher Robinson of Exeter (& Eliot, Maine?) who wed Elizabeth Hilton, the daughter of Dudley Hilton and Mercy Hall of Exeter; the son of Edward Hilton, Jr., Esq., and Ann Dudley of Exeter. His father was Exeter lawyer Edward Hilton, Sr., who wed Mrs. Catherine Shapleigh Treworgey. Catherine's brother or father was Capt. Nicholas Shapleigh who drafted early charts of the Cape Fear River. Edward's brother, Capt. William Hilton, Jr., in 1663 alledgedly "purchased" and named the Cape Fear River. Their parents were Capt. William Hilton, Sr., and Ellen Mainwaring. Corrections appreciated. James A. Miller, Jr., Southport, North Catolina 28461-7420 (on the Cape Fear River). Today's "Brunswick River", Leland, N.C.; was originally the "Hilton River" across Eagle's Island from Wilmington's, Hilton Hotel. focusoninfinity@hotmail.com
