Information below re Beecham/Beachum Hilton was sent to be from the Rowan County Genealogical Soceity in 1999. These are not original records but abstracts of land records that included Beecham/Beachums name:

"Book 11, page 117: Oct 30, 1784--The state grants (#181) to Beacham Hilton 155 acres next to Patrick Coyle & Joshua Whitaker. (This is confiscated property of Henry Eustace McCulloh sold to said Hilton for 115 pounds & is in tract 24 next to 23 on Whitakers Creek."

"Book 10, page 156: July 15, 1790, Beachum Hilton--no wife signs--lets Adam Harmon Jr. (both of Rowan County) have 155 acres in tract 24 on Whitakers Branch beginning next tract #23 Patrick Coyle & Joshua Whitaker for 200 pounds witnessed by Wm. Bodenhamer & Jno. Lopp & ackknowledgerd in Aug 1790 (the state granted this to the same Beachum Hilton on Oct 30, 1794.)"

I have North Carolina Hiltons with their origins in Maryland prior to the Revolutionary War, but have not connected Beachum to them. Your information may help to explain why.

Greg Hilton
