I think this project has been such a blessing for our research. Doing the DNA testing has given us new directions for places to look and find a connection to other groups in our family. It has also told us of families with the same surname that are not a match for us. In other words we can stop looking at families that are not ours.
Come in and view.
There is a link for you to order a kit. It will be sent to your home. You do not give blood, you scrape, gently the inside of your cheek. Mail it in to Family Tree. In four to eight weeks you will probably match a family on this site.
If you are not a Helton or other ones mentioned above. Check with Family Tree about your surname and see if there is a current DNA project going on for your family surname.
