In researching the HILTON / HYLTON / HELTON families out of New Kent Co, VA, and on to Goochland, Albemarle, Bedford, Montgomery, Floyd, and Patrick Couties.... I see that many, many people have JOHN HILTON, father of GEORGE HILTON, as born 1670 in Bristol, Somerset, England; and that he died in New Kent Co, VA, 1725. I saw one person as listing his wife as ELIZABETH GRAYBEAL.
I would really like to know where exactly the data is for saying the John Hilton in New Kent Co. was born in Bristol, England ? I've never seen the evidence. And what about this last name for Elizabeth...Graybeal ?
I have also seen where son George Hilton's wife ESTHER is listed with last name of PHILBRICK and NEWMAN. Never seen this, and also wonder where these names came from ?
Please respond if you can shed any light on these questions.
