Hi, My maiden name was Hooben. My brother did some research and found our name was HOBAN. We knew two brothers came from Gallway Ireland-one landed in Taunton the other near Boston. There was another brother who stayed in Gallway and there is still family there--my brother visited when he was in the Air Force stationed in Germany. The two who came to the United States could not write and our name got to be Hooben by whoever signed them in. I too would like to know if there is some cousin relationship to the James Hoban, Architect of the White House. I have his history but I need to connect him to ours.My father was Martin Augustine Hooben, he had a brother Bernard, and sister Hazel. There were six siblings inmy family Leo, Marie (now deceased)Richard, Irene, Norman and Paul(now deceased. See other posting HOBAN'sWorldwide,,Hoban Roche:Castlebar-Richard Hooben (my brother)
