I have just read your post with some interest. I too have an ancestor from County Mayo town called Castlebar. he was earlier from your Dennis Hoban coming to usa in 1858. His father was said to be john hoban , Dennis supposedly had many brothers and sisters but only know of a sister...Mary Jordan that settled in Fall River Massachusetts USA. The town you mention near Kiltamagh .... could it be Castelbar? Corehore? PS i would think the name Dennis may not be all that common.so maybe your Dennis and mny Dennis were related.
