George,

I wish that I could say for certain that Mary Holbrow is mine. We are testing the waters with this one.

We have two Jacob men who married and baptized their children at St. Mary's Church in Painswick. Lawrence, born 1712/13, and John who was born in 1714 (approximately). John (Sr.?) and his wife, as well as his son John and his wife Namaria are buried there at St. Mary's. I find no record of Lawrence after his marriage the birth of so many children...I don't know where he is buried.

I am descended from John. I have connected with a descendent of Lawrence. We are both stymied as to where these two men came from.

We began searching the local region and decided that William Jacob and Mary Holbrow looked like fine candidates for 7th great-grandparents. The timing is right and they are local to the Painswick area. I believe that William's mother's people were from Painswick, which further leads me to believe that the family connection is there. Now, the trick is to prove it.

I would love to find that we are related - but I have to admit that I am still searching.

If you run across Lawrence and John Jacob of Painswick, please let me know!
