Charles,

I'm sorry to correct you but...

The Archibald Holland who married Elizabeth Hagen in Clarke Co, Ga. was ba. 1800, the son of William Holland, originally from Virginia. He is found in Paulding Co., Ga in 1850 and 1860. A number of Paulding County researchers have documented his family.

Archibald Holland, the son of Jacob, is shown by the 1820 census to be still living on the Tugaloo River in SC with a wife and a couple of kids. He sold his SC land in 1824 and moved to Hall County Georgia along with brother Elijah, nephew Thomas, and a couple of other Holland families. He died in Cherokee Co, Ga in 1848.

The Jacob Holland family arrives and is granted land on the Tugaloo River in Franklin Co, Ga in 1785 along with Thomas and Catherine "Catty" Harrison, Mary's parents. They are closely connected to the Rev. John Cleveland family from Wilkes Co., NC (Two Harrison-Cleveland marriages and one Holland Cleveland marriage). Jacob Holland served in the Georgia State Legislature in 1787 but had to resign when his land was switched to SC. I am researching Jacob Holland's origins. I am trying to connect him to Jacob Holland of Pittsylvania and Montgomery Co, Va. who lived close to the Peter Holland family but may or may not be related.
