I sure hope I have finally found someone who can help me. I am just beginning to research my Fathers line SMITH / HOLLAND and MOONEY. 1- His mother Laura Frances SMITH from Forsyth County, Georgia m: George E. SMITH from Gwinnett County, Georgia. 2- His grandmother was Nancy Josephine HOLLAND married to George W. SMITH. She was born, according to her headstone: June 16, 1860 the zero is almost unreadable and could very well be a 2. They are buried in the SMITH Cemetery in Buford, Georgia. I am trying now to locate her parents. Family tales have her being born in Hall County and her father was believed to have been a Sam or Samuel but no body is sure of her mothers name. They say it could have been something like Missy, could it be Samuel and Melissa? Any ideas on this from the experts out there? All help and suggestions greatly appreciated.
