Do you know where your Joseph was born? Henry and his sister's were born in Germany and came to St. Louis in the 1850's and 1860's.
There is a group that settle the Hudson River Valley in the 1600's and adopted Hollenbeck as a surname a few generations into being here.
If your Joseph was born in the states, it probably means he is a Hollenbeck from this group.
A while back I helped someone who had Hollenbecks in Jefferson County about this time period. His Hollenbecks were from the 1600 group. I think he was looking for a "Nellie" Hollenbeck, she had brothers in the area.
Have you looked at the www.usgenweb.org site for the county in which Eureka was located? I think a search of the Jefferson County site produced some Hollenbeck hits.
What were the names of Joseph's children?
