Since I began my search for Lawrence Hollenbeck Sr. and his wife Sarah Lewis Hollenbeck I have learned many things. Most of what I had posted earlier dealt with other Lawrence Hollenbeck's. There were many Hollenbecks in Linn County Iowa in the 1840's.
I have learned that Lawrence Hollenbeck Sr. bought land in section 29 of Fayette County which is not located in Palo in 1844 and sold the same peice of land to his son-in-law Franklin Pierce in 1848.
His wife Sarah Lewis Hollenbeck died in Linn County in 1848, and I am looking at old cemeteries in the Palo area to locate. Please contact me if you have any information on the Hollenbeck and Lewis families.
