Bettye,

I would be glad to help you in any way I can. Hugh Horton's will/estate is only mention in Grime's will abstracts. I have been to the NC archives a number of times and have never located the original. I have also been to Northampton and Halifax Counties and was unable to locate it. It does give us names to work with.

My mother's lineage:
Bettie Ann Horton d/o Jack (originally Theodore before he had his name changed) Roosevelt Horton; s/o Eddie Arey Horton and Bettie Elizabeth Jones; s/o William H. Horton(this is one of the Horton's that migrated from Northampton County to Chatham County) and Elizabeth M. Shackleford; s/o Daniel Horton and Mary Ann Harris; s/o Jesse Horton and Mary Ann (--?--); s/o William Horton and Amy (--?--); s/o John Horton; s/o Hugh Horton.

I hope this helps. I have more information if you would like to contact me at my personal email.
