I believe I have totally lost my brains. I am trying to straighten out three lines - one of which I need by the end of the week for someone else. So sorry for the confusion- First my mother-in-law was a Horton - not his grandmother - that is one of the other lines. Second I believe the Charles E. Horton in White Co., ILL son of John and Jane Horton was in Edgar Co., ILL in 1900 as a farm laborer - single. Which would leave the Charles in Fayette Co., ILL in 1880 as yours most likely- seems he stayed in his home county. I have Joseph as b 10 Oct 1839 in Franklin Co., N.C. married first to a Jane M. b 1842 N.C. died bet 1870-1871 Fayette Co., ILL - Joseph remarried a Lucinda Iseley 11 Jun 1872 Bond Co., ILL I can find no Horton in Fayette Co in 1900 so either they were not counted or it is mis-spelled that I can not figure out. Like I said the first time the only way to know for sure is to order a death certificate and see what it says. Joseph was a son of Willis and Martha Sanders - and don't even get me started on that family - I have them so messed up I don't think I will ever get them straightened out. There were two Willis's born about two years apart and in neighboring counties. Sorry for the confusion - Joseph was with his mother in Franklin Co., N.C. in 1850; 1860 - in 1870; 1880 was in Fayette Co., ILL Charles was in the 1880 with Joseph and Loucinda and in 1910; 1920 in Fayette Co - as head of household.
