Immigrant Barnabas Horton (1600-1680) was married more than once and had 10 children - that is pretty much accepted by those working on this line. Yesterday I looked at postings 4796-4798 on this forum and found that there are those who believe there was a third wife. Can anyone help prove this right or wrong? Wife #1 = Anne Smith (1602-1630) born, lived, and died in England. She is the mother of Joseph, Benjamin, and Anne. Wife #2 = Mary Langton (1607-?) born England and died Southold, NY. The information in the postings cited is that Mary Langton died 22 Oct 1640 at Southold, NY. She is the mother of Hannah, Sarah, and Mary. She immigrated with Barnabas Horton. Wife #3 = Mary South (1620-169?) is part of the information in the postings cited. She might be the mother of Caleb, Joshua, Jonathan, and Mercy. The 1999 posting says that both Marys are buried with Barnabas Horton in the Old Burying Ground at Southold, NY. I would be very much interested in documentation to support or refute this senario! I wanted this question widely read and so did not want to place it as just a follow-up to a 1999 posting. Sincerely, Janice jlchipman@aol.com Notify Administrator about this message?
