For those descendants of David Horton (1700-1781) Westchester Co., NY who married ca. 1731 Isabelle Kirkpatrick (1701-1745) at White Plains, NY: Both are said to have been born in Rye, Westch. Co., NY. Several of the postings on OWT, Ancestry.com says her middle name was "Bellicha." I believe that it should be "Bellitje" a Dutch name for a female child, Anglicized to "Isabelle," and a big clue to tracing the parents of Isabelle Kirkpatrick. There were descendants of Capt. Daniel Patrick and his sons DAniel2 and Samuel2 who went by the old spelling of the family surname "Kirkpatrick." They resided in the Burrough Town of Westchester by 1705 and Eastchester, parts of which are now in the Bronx. There was a Richard Patrick in Rye about 1686 (Baird, Chronicle of Rye, History of a Border Town, p. 92.)and my Richard Patrick at Norwalk, CT by 1724 whose descendants I have documented. Please let me know of any connection of Isabelle to these Patricks.
