Don't know how much this will help, but..

I have one marriage in my data between Jesse Horton (1773-1850) and Sarah Elizabeth Chamblee (1777-1862) in 1799 Wake Co. NC.

This Jesse Horton was the son of Amos Horton and Virginia Peebles. Jesse had an older sister named Sarah Horton, but my information says she married a Scarborough.

I do not currently have any other Horton/Chamblee marriages, but I do have notes on another tree I have seen about the Sarah Horton you're looking for.

Those notes say that Sarah Horton was the daughter of David and Ann Horton, and that this David was born in 1724 in Rye, NY.

Says she first married a cousin, Jethro Horton, on 1 Dec 1782 (probably in NC) and that they had a son named Grief Horton in 1783. Jethro Horton died in Apr 1784.

Grief Horton married Jemima Margaret Broyles in 1807, Pendleton District, SC. They had a daughter named Lucinda Caroline and a son named Charles Elijah Horton. Grief Horton died in 1875 in SC.

Sallie Horton married 2nd George Chamblee, son of Robert Chamblee and Mary Armstrong, in 1786. The notes show children of this marriage: Benjamin, Elizabeth, Zadoc, William, Lewis, James, Sally and Nancy.

I don't even have the source of this information anymore, sad to say. I just made notes from a tree several years ago, in case I found a connection between David and Ann Horton and my Amos and Virginia.

But maybe you will recognize some of these names.. looking back on this now, I do feel like there's probably a connection between your George and my Sarah Elizabeth Chamblee (wife of Jesse Horton).

Good luck!
