Mechenheim, Alsheim, Lachen, etc are not in the state of NordRhein-Westphalen but in Rheinland-Pfalz. I examined the microfilm copy of the protestant records of all three of these communities which I obtained through the LDS library system. If you have information on the Hamman family it came from my chapter on the Hamman family in a book I published on the European origins of German speaking pioneers in the Shenandoah Valley, which I entitled "From the Rhine to the Shenandoah". The Hottel material has already been published in an update of the history - first installment published by the Hottel-Keller Foundation just last year. Many people including myself have tried to find more on the Hottel (Hodel) family in the Church and civil records of that region but have not been successful.
