First of all.......hello cousin! Clarence Boyd Howle 9/19/1918-10/0/1973 was a son of Evander Boyd Howle 1892-1965 & Hattie Mae Hawkins 1894-1927. Evander & Hattie were married 1/1/1911.
Hattie Mae Hawkins was a sister to my Grandfather Jesse S. Hawkins. Hattie died in 1927 due to some sort of cancer. You and I are 2nd cousins.
Evander Boyd Howle's parents were William Franklin Howle 12/12/1866-2/16/1948 & Dollie V. Griggs 6/10/1872-12/28/1939.
William Franklin Howle's parents were James Thomas Howle 6/21/1841-12/5/1926 & (1st wife)Jane Byrd 1842-4/7/1873 (Jane Byrd was a sister to my G-G Grandmother Martha Byrd who married Daniel Hawkins, Daniel Hawkins was the father of William James Hawkins, William James Hawkins was the father of Jesse S. Hawkins, who was the brother of Hattie Mae Hawkins who married Evander Boyd Howle). James Thomas Howle's 2nd wife was Frances Delilah Chapman.......may G-Grandmother was a Chapman also (another connection!!).
James Thomas Howle's parents were Francis Howle 12/25/1813-8/25/1899 & 1st wife Esther Davis 4/15/1814-5/15/1874. Francis Howle had 10 children with Esther Davis and another 5 children with 2nd wife Margaret Jane Sparrow 1/27/1847-7/27/1925.
Francis Howle's parents were James Howle 1766-1846 & Elizabeth Nancy Purvis 1767-???? Thomas Howle, a son of James Howle & Nancy Purvis married Ann Hawkins (another relation).
I have much, much more on these families if you need more. AS you can see there are numerous connections between the Hawkins's & Howle's and other related families as well
