I am descended from Absalom Howle (1730-1789) of New Kent County. He and his first wife, Hannah, had 3 children whose births are recorded St Peter's Parish record: Gideon, Fanny, and Charles. According to the Douglas Register, Absalom "Owl" married second Anne Holland, both of Goochland, on 13 Aug 1769. They had 2 sons: Absalom, b. 11 Jul 1770 (Douglas Register) and perhaps William. This younger Absalom (who spelled his name "Howl") married Elizabeth Clem 2 Aug 1806 in Amherst County and lived there until he died in 1840.

I have not found any record of either Absalom having married Mary Moss. Is yours a 3rd Absalom? I would welcome any information about any Absalom Howl(e).
