thank-you for responding to my inquiry.
i find the information in your letter fascinating.when i was growing up and i
inquired of my father what our family's nationality was, he thought it was french, maybe alsation, but he was not sure.his father died young and besides people from that generation wanted to be all american so they did not talk about their nationality.
so consequentially i know very little about my heritage. my interest was awakened by a news article i read about france that mentioned a robert hue, the head of the french communist party. could you answer a few questions i have about the hues.
1) what religion did they profess?
2) were they huguenots?
3) were they merchants,farmers,etc.?
4) where did they emigrate to and when?

i live in cincinnati,ohio,u.s.a. and am puzzled how my ancesters got to this part of the world. thank-you for anything you can tell me about our family name.
