Hi Raewyn
My GreatGrandfather was an Huxtable from Devon. I have been looking at the sites to try and find out some more information. He was dead before I was born. You are right that Huxtable is a Devon name but I was never made aware that there could be other relations! Maybe we don't have a connection but briefly my background ......my Grandmother Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Huxtable from Barnstaple in Devon - she married William Read (a policeman) and they had three children - Enid; Tom and Audrey [Audrey is my Mother]. Enid died at a young age; my Grandfather died as a result of rescuing a young child from a river and he caught pneumonia); Tom my uncle is dead and he had an only child - Moira. There is an awful lot more but this must be enough to begin with.

I look forward to hearing from you - maybe I can get more information

Many regards

Trisha Jensen
