Roberta,
I feel as if I am a bit of an intruder here, but know nothing about the Iiames (?) You sound as if you have really done your research. My ancester from England was Benjamin Heskett (Hiscott), who arrived, I think, in Maryland in early 1740's. He married Elizabeth Iames (again, spelling unclear) and settled in VA. They had three children, William, Elizabeth, and my great, great grandfather Benjamin Heskett, Jr., who married Catherine Palmer. Our line is well researched, but I have nothing on Elizabeth Iames. The name seems to be unusual enough that there must be a connection. Do you have Benjamin in your research? Once one starts on this family thing, it becomes endless, doesn't it? Many of Benjamin Sr. and Elizabeth's descendants traveled to eastern Ohio.
