It seems my family tree has been subject to the green house effect. There have been several marriages, remarriages and rejections within my direct family line and I have stalled soon after I have begun. If anyone could help me, I would very much like to locate details for my daughters. My Grandfather William I'Anson told me he came from a long line of "William's" in that all the men directly descending were named William. I do recall seeing a printed family tree as a child and recall there also being a long line of Francis's (first name of males) further up the tree - and my mother, being the only living child was named Francine (b 1945) to honour this apparently. My grandparents did have a son, who died at birth, who my Grandmother (Violet Miriam, nee Barraclough) named Bryan. My Grandfather married twice and had two sisters, but I know nothing of his first very short-lived marriage. The youngest sister married John Benson and remains in Manchester. My grandparents emigrated to Australia in 1950 and were sponsored by I'Ansons not directly related already living here (lived with them for some time on a farm). My Grandfather wrote "New Chum Experiences" for an English paper for some time after his arrival in Australia. His older sister known only as Lizzie was disowned in her teens and what family is left, knows nothing of what became of her. I think Grandad's Mum was also called Elizabeth. I would like very much to find out what happened to his sister (Lizzie) and whether she found family happiness. My Grandad was very fond of Lizzie and said he 'felt' she had died before I was born (1970). I have searched the I'Anson one name site, but am unable to see where we fit in, or find Lizzie in births or deaths...so have not made it very far, have I? Was it likely back then, that she may have changed her name (as mine has been changed several times due to family breakdowns) Did that happen much then? I would appreciate any help as I set off on this journey into the past, in search of those who seem to have been intentionally forgotten. If anyone has found us, or notices us in a leg of your own tree, I would love it if you could let me know. All the best, Nicki Notify Administrator about this message?
