I have gathered a substantial amount of information about my ancestor, Christian Winters, who was born (I believe) in the Hohenlohe Principality of Wuerttemberg, Germany on December 11, 1780 and died in Bureau County, Illinois on April 8, 1860. He settled in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, after his arrival at the Port of Philadelphia aboard the ship, "Favorite," on November 15, 1803. For persons researching the Winter family, I should point out here that it is assumed tht my Christian Winters added the "s" to his name sometime after coming to America. There are still some gaps in my knowledge of my family's history and it is my hope that this message will reach the attention of others who are also researching this family and will come forward with what they have learned. And, of course, I would be happy to share the information that I have with anyone who is interested.
