Mrs. Mary Ridinger, near Homer, was killed by a cow. She was staking out the animal and her foot caught in the loop of the rope and she was dragged to death.

Homer—Funeral services for Paul Lavaughn Ridinger, 86, of Homer will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Freese Funeral Home, 302 E. Grand Ave., St. Joseph. The Rev. Tom Anders and the Rev. Ken Fetters will officiate.
Burial will be at G.A.R. Cemetery, Homer.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ridinger died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 25, 1998) at Urbana Nursing Home.
He was born July 18, 1912, at St. Joseph, a son of Charles and Effie Coddington Ridinger. He married Reba Collier on April 27, 1935, at Urbana. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles Ridinger of Pesotum and Paul T. Ridinger of Sidney; three grandchildren; a step-grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.

Mrs. Goldie Bishop, 43-year-old former Homer woman, died at her home at 220 Sidell street, Danville, Monday after being bedfast for about seven weeks. The cause of her death was dropsy and heart trouble.
Funeral services were held from the Callahan & Callahan funeral home, Danville, at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday with Reverend Vernon Martin of the Muncie Baptist church officiating. Interment was in G. A. R. cemetery here.
Mrs. Bishop was born near Fairmount Oct. 23, 1900, the daughter of Rosa Ellen and Charles Bumgart. The father died Dec. 4, 1923.
She was married to Alvin Bishop of Catlin on April 12, 1920. The couple’s oldest son, Charles, died at the age of four months.
Survivors are the husband and the following children: First Sergeant Raymond, stationed near Little rock, Ark.; Naomi Jameson, Danville; Anna, Lewis and Rosie, at home. Also left are Mrs. Bishop’s mother and step-father,Mr. and Mrs. George Smith of Homer; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rushing, St. Joseph and Mrs. Dorothy Steffey, Homer, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bishop attended the Danville Baptist church.
