Many thanks for that.

Unfortunately, I don't appear to have Charles and Ella in my database.

A lot of the census info has his parents birthplace as New York but a later reference has them as being born in England.

If his parents were born in New York I think a possible match is that he is the son of Ira H Rossiter ( born circa 1828) & Olive Swan ( born circa 1832). If that is the case Charles has already been married twice ( to Calista Rowell & Martha A Corey) and I have him as born in Michigan!!

If his parents were born in England, then I am stuck as I cannot find a decent match.

Is it possible to find him in the 1860 and 1870 censuses please?
