Marriage Records Question

Can anyone tell me when Illinois began including personal info about the bride and groom on marriage records? I have a marriage record from Paducah, KY for 1878 and it lists the groom's occupation. Then I have a marriage record for the same woman (2nd marriage) just a stone's throw up the river at Cairo, IL for 1884. The 1884 Illinois record has no personal info at all. I was just wondering when Illinois began including employment info on the marriage record.
