Shelia..I have a copy of a Marriage License and a Marriage Application for my Great Grand Uncle and it lists his occupation and other personal information regarding his parents. It was issued in St. Clair County IL and is dated 31 Jan 1878. I also ordered marriage records from another Illinois county dated 29 March 1877 and did not receive a copy of the application, only the marriage cert.
I don't know if all counties in IL required the Marriage Application. I'm not familiar with Illinois requirments. I was pleasantly surprised when then application was included with the copy of the Marriage License that I ordered. Check with the county involved to see if they required the Marriage Application.
