Perhaps I can help a little. William Henry Donovan was my gggfather. My William Henry Donovan was born in Ohio, accordng to his Civil War military record. He m1)Mary J. Todd. They had possibly a Joseph, and for sure a Mary Frances Ann, b. 11 Nov 1949, in Logan Co, Illinois. Mary Frances Ann d. 28 Mar 1941 in York Co. NE. She m. 25 May 1871 William McCollough/McCullough. William Henry Donovan m2) Mahala Jane McGinnis, 6 Sept 1852. They had Mary E. b. 1854(died young), Amanda ELizabeth (my ggmother) b. 28 April 1856, James William, b. 4 Oct 1858, Charles Madison b. 15 Dec 1860, Georgia Alice 26 Mar 1863 (died young), John Isaac 29 Apr 1865, Nancy Jane b. 21 Jan 1869, David Harrison b. 15 Mar 1871, Edward Brown b. 22 Aug 1873, and Henry M.F. b. 22 Feb 1876. Willian Henry and Mahala d. within a week of each other in 1879 of milk fever (cows ate poisonous white snakeroot). Some children went to live with Frances Ann McCullough.
