Hi Susan,
Wow, I'm surprised no one responded sooner. Oh well - The last several people I have referred to the Sterling Library have all said the same thing. I don't know why, because as far as I know, Marilyn is still there and I know J. Slaney is still the director. Another good resource for you is the Sterling/Rock Falls Historical Society. I don't know why I forgot to mention them sooner. Here is their website: http://www.svonline.net/~srfhs/ Terry Buckaloo is the curator and Director. Genealogy Trails/Whiteside County http://genealogytrails.com/ill/whiteside/index.html is another good website, although they cannot do research for you; you can do a site-search for those surnames of interest. I'm not sure if my website would have information on the names or not, but you can check: www.tampicohistoricalsociety.com Our local newspaper, The Tampico Tornado, often published articles about surrounding towns. Much of the Tornado has been transcribed on our site. Do a site-search from our home page. Good Luck!
Denise
