Dana, Hi again. Do you have a death cert. for your grandmother? I went to the Williamson Co. courthouse today to get one for one of my relatives and I noticed on it that it tells the cemetery that the person was buried in. What was your grandmothers full name? My mother in law is a director of nursing at the Franklin Co. nursing homes and I was just wondering if she would know how to go about finding old nursing home records. Also, if you don't have a death cert. of your grandmothers and she died here in Williamson Co. I could pick one up for you and send it to you or scan it to you. I work in Marion so I'm there almost everyday anyway. Also, I don't work tomorrow till noon so after the kids get off to school I'll do some walking around in the cemeteries and see if I can't stumble up on the name. I need to go anyway and put some flowers on some in-laws graves. And do you know if your grandmother was married in Illinois? You can search the Illinois marriage index at www.library.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/datatbases.html Also, when was she born? If she lived around here for a long time I may be able to find out some info. I work in health care for the elderly and I could ask around to see if anyone might recognize the name. This is a "small town" area and everyone knows everyone! Hope to hear from you soon, I know how frustrating these searches can be. I never have found out where my great grandfather died or is buried!
