Hello,
I am looking for information on my great-grandmother, Elizabeth PARKS TANNER GRAVES and her descendants. Elizabeth was the daughter of Hugh and Jane Parks who were living in Twp. 10 Range 4 in the 1870 Census for Williamson Co., IL. Hugh and Jane also had a daughter named Nancy listed living with them on this census and a Farland, age 3 months. I don't know the identity of their other children.
Elizabeth PARKS married (1) William TANNER October 13, 1853 in Williamson Co., IL. They had the following children, all born in IL:
James C. TANNER, b. 1855
Hugh A. TANNER, b. 1857-58
Nancy Jane TANNER, b. 1860
Mary (Polly/Mollie) TANNER, b. 1865
William died between 1865-1870 as Elizabeth is listed as widowed on the 1870 census.
Elizabeth married (2) John GRAVES on May 25, 1876, Saline, Williamson Co., IL. John GRAVES had the following children by his first wife, Mary/Polly Cline:
(John)Gilbert GRAVES, b. 1850
James J. GRAVES, b. 1860
William GRAVES, b. 1862
Mary GRAVES, b. 1866
Elizabeth and John GRAVES had one daughter together, Malinda GRAVES, b. 1877-78.
Nancy Jane TANNER, who was Elizabeth PARKS TANNER and William TANNER's daughter, was 16 years old when Elizabeth married John GRAVES. Nancy Jane married Gilbert GRAVES, John's oldest son, on April 29, 1877, Williamson Co., IL. Elizabeth gave consent to the marriage.
Nancy Jane TANNER GRAVES is my grandmother. Elizabeth PARKS TANNER GRAVES is my maternal great-grandmother, as well as, my paternal step-great-grandmother!
I would like to have any and all information, and any pictures available, on Elizabeth, Nancy, and related family members. I know that pictures exist of Nancy out there somewhere, and of her parents, as there was one picture that existed in our immediate family which was destroyed by fire many years ago.
I also need information on who James J. GRAVES, William GRAVES, and Mary GRAVES, the children of John and Mary (Cline) GRAVES, married and their descendants.
